Cohen, Weiss and Simon LLP Honored by CUNY’s Public Interest Law Association

Cohen, Weiss and Simon LLP is proud to be selected as a 2022 honoree by The City University of New York’s Public Interest Law Association (PILA) for our work on behalf of the NYSNA-represented nurses during the pandemic.  We gratefully share this honor posthumously with our late colleague, Joseph J. Vitale, who was actively involved in our safety litigation and other efforts on behalf of the NYSNA nurses, many of whom lost their lives and all of whom worked night and day to take care of their patients in overcrowded and understaffed hospitals, often without adequate PPE.

The firm will be honored at the virtual 29th Annual PILA Gala on Friday, April 22.  PILA is a law student-directed non-profit organization dedicated to promoting public interest law through fellowships benefiting law students with unpaid summer internships.  Cohen, Weiss and Simon is honored to have been able to support and assist the New York State Nurses Association as they worked in unimaginably difficult conditions to provide the excellent care that all New Yorkers deserve.
