Cohen, Weiss and Simon LLP submits Amicus Brief on behalf of Actors’ Equity Association to Defend the Right to Perform in Drag

In a win for performers, on June 2, 2023, the Western District of Tennessee permanently enjoined enforcement of a Tennessee law that prohibited “male or female impersonators” from performing in view of minors.  Cohen, Weiss and Simon LLP submitted an amicus brief on behalf of Actors’ Equity Association to defend performers’ right to perform in drag under the First Amendment following the passage of that statute.  Our brief is available to read here.
