Lisa M. Gomez appears on panels at the American Bar Association Joint Committee on Employee Benefits National Institute on ERISA Basics in Chicago, IL

Lisa M. Gomez will appear on panel presentations discussing ERISA Basic Concepts and ERISA Basics Statutory and Regulatory Fundamentals, which will provide a basic overview of the statute’s fundamental concepts, such as what is a plan, what is a plan sponsor, and who is an employee, the differences among different types of pension and welfare benefit plans, and the various regulations that apply to ERISA benefit plans as well as other forms of rulings and guidance issued by the governing agencies. She will also appear on a panel presentation on QDROs, QMCSOs and Spousal Rights, addressing the requirements and issues involves with qualified domestic relations orders and qualified medical child support orders and legal requirements regarding spousal rights in qualified plans, as well as the impact of the Supreme Court’s decision in U.S. v. Windsor with respect to treatment of same sex spouses for purposes of QDROs and spousal rights.
