Jani K. Rachelson and Lisa M. Gomez appeared on panels at the American Bar Association Labor & Employment Section Employee Benefits Committee Midwinter Meeting in Clearwater Beach, FL on February 7-11, 2018. Jani participated on a panel for a session titled “Multiemployer Pension Plan Funding Issues,” which discussed how new critically and declining plans will fare under the Multiemployer Pension Reform Act of 2014 (MPRA) and the future of multiemployer defined benefit plans.  Lisa participated on a panel for a session titled “Intersection Between Religious and Moral Liberties and Benefits” which discussed current litigation and future trends related to contraceptive coverage, issues include medical benefits for transgender employees, legacy pre-Windsor issues for same-sex spouses in pension plans, coverage for same-sex spouses in health plans, fertility benefits for employees in same-sex relationships, and medical marijuana.
